Experience
Following graduation, William Cheek accepted employment with the Luckett
Law Firm in Clarksdale, MS, where his practice consisted primarily of
insurance defense. Cheek remained in Clarksdale, MS for approximately
two years until he accepted his present position with Gatti, Keltner,
Bienvenu & Montesi. He is licensed to practice law in the states of
Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas where his practice focuses primarily
on personal injury claims.
Education
In 1981, Cheek graduated from McMinn Central High School and attended
preparatory school at TMI for one year. The following year he continued
his education at Millsaps College in Jackson, MS. His extracurricular
activities included being a 4-year varsity letterman in football and
an active member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He graduated from Milsaps
in 1987 with a B.S. in Biology and History. Following graduation from
Millsaps, Cheek was employed by Millsaps in the Recruiting and Admissions
Office and as a graduate assistant football coach. In 1988, he taught
school and coached at Jackson Academy in Jackson, MS. He entered University
of Mississippi School of Law in 1989, and graduated with his Juris Doctorate,
in December, 1991.
Personal
William Cheek is originally from Etowah, McMinn County, Tennessee,
where his parents and grandparents continue to reside.
His hobbies and interests include golf, hunting, fishing, and attending
the University of Tennessee football games. Cheek is also a volunteer
participate in the Greater Memphis Area Big Brothers Program.
