Experience
Shannon D. Elsea began working with Gatti, Keltner, Bienvenu & Montesi
in December, 1995. He has worked on a variety of cases in all court
levels in Shelby County. His practice, however, keeps him primarily
in the General Sessions and Circuit Court systems.
Education
Elsea is an alumni of Christian Brothers University, in Memphis, where
he received a Bachelors in History. He interned with the Tennessee State
Legislature during his junior year at CBU where he developed his on-going
respect for the law and the legislative process. Elsea graduated from
CBU Cum Laude in 1992, and was awarded the Phi Alpha Theta Faculty Award
for excellence in the Study of History.
He sought his Juris Doctorate at The John Marshall Law School in Chicago,
IL, from 1992 to 1995. He graduated from JMLS in 1995, on the Dean's
List. During the summer of 1995, he sat for and passed the Tennessee
Bar Exam.
Personal
Though a native of Arkansas, Elsea has come to call Memphis his home.
He is an active member in his church, particularly the Methodist Mens
Group, and tries to stay involved in local city politics. He is also
a member of the Vollentine-Evergreen Community Association in his Midtown
neighborhood.
