Experience
Cecil G. Keltner was admitted
to practice law by the State of Tennessee Supreme Court in 1951 and
served as Special Judge in the General Sessions Court of Shelby County,
Tennessee, as well as the Germantown City Court of Shelby County, Tennessee.
He served as the attorney for the Design and Review Board of the City
of Germantown, Tennessee from 1980 through 1982. He is a member of the
Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association, and the Memphis and Shelby County
Bar Association.
Education
Keltner attended Tech High
School in Memphis, Tennessee, graduating in 1938. He attended Memphis
State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree
and a Bachelor of Law degree. In addition, Keltner attended the University
of Virginia International College of Law, as well as the Command and
General Staff School of Levenworth, in Levenworth, Kansas.
Personal
He was born on November
11, 1919, in Ripley, Lauderdale County, Tennessee. In 1943, he enlisted
in the U. S. Army, becoming a member of the Judge Advocate Generals
Corps. He remained in the military forces and served active duty during
World War II, and remained active for 23 years when he retired with
commission as Lt. Colonel.
He has been married to his
wonderful wife for 57 years and has four children and four grandchildren.
He has also been a member of Union Avenue Baptist Church in Memphis,
Tennessee, for 49 years, where he has served as deacon and Sunday school
teacher.
