Motor vehicle accident claims life of Tennessee senior

A three-car accident recently resulted in the death of a senior citizen from East Tennessee. The man’s death was reported by the Murfreesboro Police Department. The 77-year-old man died following injuries suffered in the motor vehicle accident. The precise details of the tragic crash were not reported.

The accident happened at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 27 on an exit ramp for Interstate 24. One officer who reported to the scene stated that, when he arrived, the elderly man was receiving treatment for pains in his chest. The man was later transported to the hospital to receive treatment for his injuries.

Hospital doctors were able to keep the man alive for four days, but eventually, there was nothing they could do. The man succumbed to his injuries on Jan. 31. His loss will no doubt be felt throughout the community, among his friends, family members and others who may have known him. His obituary states that he was formerly employed by the Tennessee Field Office of National Agricultural Statistics for a decade and a half.

The loss of this Tennessee senior citizen is a reminder of how dangerous a routine drive can be. A motor vehicle accident can claim the life of a loved one in an instant. Indeed, if a family member is killed as the result of another party’s negligence, surviving relatives can seek justice by commencing a wrongful death claim. Recoveries that can be sought through such a claim could include money to pay for funeral expenses and other monetary damages recognized by our laws.
